Dr. Hassinger's interest in farm animals began on his grandfather's dairy farm when he was young.  From his first 4-H show calf, Wayne went on to raise a diversity of animals as an FFA member.  His interest in animals, people, and applied science started a path toward veterinary medicine.

Wayne earned his B.S. in Dairy Science from Delaware Valley College and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999.  He remained interested in all aspects of dairy herd medicine while enjoying the variety of attending to a mix of animal species.  After five years in mixed practice, he focused on large animals with Hassinger Veterinary Services.

For Wayne, the wonder of the successfully delivered newborn never grows old.  He continues to focus on individual health and herd health through good husbandry and preventative medicine.  He is also interested in helping horses and riders with routine equine dentistry.   Wayne has a special affection for spaniels, and enjoys most pets.

Wayne is a member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, American Asscociation of Small Ruminant Practitioners, and the American Association of Equine Practitioners.  Wayne and Lisa are part of the Rock Solid Church family in Hudson, NY.

Wayne enjoys gardening, biking and the outdoors, and spending time with his wife, Lisa, and their children, Ethan and Alexis.  Wayne enjoys and continues to pursue veterinary mission service on the island of Hispaniola.

Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds.
