Ugh

This morning I saw the young goat being carried through the gate before I heard the dogs tell me someone was at the door. From a distance I thought - is it another case of polio as I have seen a few recently? (Polio-ecephalomalacia in ruminants is not infectious and not related to polio caused by polio virus in humans.). As I got closer, I normally would heave been thinking no, it’s not polio, it’s listeriosis. Not to be the case this morning as its neurologic symptoms were produced by the rock that was thrown at it because it was allowed to free roam and decided someone else’s plants looked like a good meal. Oh that common sense and love would stop senseless loss. And today, as so many other days, its just a tiny reflection of the broader picture as people are literally burning the Country from beneath their own feet as riots continue and bad conditions deteriorate more. I will leave the pictures of the “political turmoil and civil unrest” to other sites. I’ve tried not to post about the current upheaval, but this morning the little goat gave me a nudge.

Yet I am encouraged as I get to see young Haitians see the problems with more clarity than the mob. May leaders with love and wisdom be raised up. I won’t wax long about the physical or spiritual cause and effects here, I simply ask - PRAY for Haiti!

“I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
